Electrical fault finding and repairs
A tripping RCD, a dead socket or lights that flicker are signs that something is wrong. We trace the fault with the right test equipment, explain what we've found and fix it.
What's included
- Tripping RCDs and breakers
- Dead sockets and circuits
- Flickering or failed lighting
- Burning smells and scorched fittings
- Damaged cables and accessories
- Faulty appliances and connections
- Water and storm damage
- Insurance reports
How we find faults
We isolate circuits one at a time and use insulation resistance testing to narrow down the fault, rather than guessing and replacing parts. That usually means a quicker, cheaper fix.
Questions
My RCD trips when it rains. Why?
Water is getting into an outdoor circuit, such as a garden socket, outside light or garage supply. Avoid using it and call us to trace and fix it.
Is a burning smell an emergency?
Yes. Switch off at the consumer unit if it's safe to do so and call us straight away on the emergency line.
